All funds and plans purchased for use in Clemson Home dining locations are for the personal use of the owner of the account or plan only and are non-transferable.  The Clemson Home dining funds and plans cannot be used as a gift card or gift certificate. Except as otherwise expressly stated in these terms, all Clemson Home dining funds and plans are non-refundable and will expire at the earlier of the last day of enrollment or employment, as applicable, or the last day of the current semester.

1. First-Year Student Meal Plan Requirement Policy

All first-year students who live in University Housing (excluding the apartments Calhoun Courts, Lightsey Bridge I & II, and Thornhill Village) are required to select an Unlimited meal plan for the first two semesters, fall and spring.

This includes the Unlimited 300, Unlimited 200, and Unlimited 100 meal plans. Other meal plan options do not satisfy the first-year requirement.

Fall semester: First-year students who are required to select a meal plan, but do not select a meal plan by the Sunday before classes will be assigned the Unlimited 200 meal plan and held responsible for associated charges.

Spring semester: The selected fall meal plan will automatically be assigned as the spring meal plan option and the associated charges will be added to the spring tuition bill. If you choose to change your meal plan, we encourage you to change it prior to paying the spring tuition bill to ensure that you are not charged a change fee.

Meal Plan Termination: First-year students who live in University Housing (excluding the apartment areas) during their first two semesters, fall and spring, may only terminate their meal plan for one of the following reasons: 

a. Approval by University Housing to commute (must live within a 50 mile radius).
b. Withdrawal from the University six weeks prior to the end of a semester for school-related reasons (transfer, study abroad, co-op) or failure to enroll.
c. Change in housing assignment to an on-campus apartment.
d. Medical condition with dietary requirements that cannot be met by Dining. Documentation from a medical doctor must be provided along with specific dietary requirements, and students must meet with the Registered Dietitian on campus. All documentation will be reviewed by Student Accessibility Services.
e. Other circumstances determined to be beyond the student's control by the Housing & Dining Appeals Committee.

First-year students must submit the necessary documentation for any of the above reasons to the Appeals Committee before cancellation of a meal plan will be considered by completing the Appeals Process. The student will be responsible for all fees related to termination of the meal plan, except for withdrawals, from the University. 

Students who appeal their meal plan or withdraw from the University during the last six weeks of the semester are not entitled to a refund.

2. Bridge Student Student Meal Plan Policy

Bridge students can purchase a Clemson Meal Plan to use at dining locations on Clemson University's campus.

August 14-September 8: Bridge students can purchase a meal plan in person at the TigerOne Card Office, 111 Hendrix Student Center, open Monday-Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm.
Beginning September 11: Meal plan can be purchased online at the TigerOne Online Store

Prior to purchasing, please take into consideration that all meal plan purchases made by a Bridge student must be paid in full and cannot be dropped, downgraded or refunded once purchased. Please note that the purchased meal plan and Paw Points may only be used on Clemson University's campus.

3. Upgrade, Downgrade, and Cancellation Policy

During the semester, there is one specific week to drop or downgrade a meal plan. It is strongly recommended to review the Terms and Conditions before you purchase a meal plan.

Drop/Downgrade (September 4-8): Students may downgrade or drop their meal plan in person at the TigerOne Card Office, 111 Hendrix Student Center, open Monday-Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm. A $40 drop/downgrade fee will apply. First-year students will not be eligible to drop their meal plan or downgrade to a block meal plan.

Upgrade (Starting September 4): Students may upgrade their meal plan throughout the semester in person at the TigerOne Card Office, 111 Hendrix Student Center, open Monday-Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm.

After the specified drop/downgrade week concludes, an appeals form must be submitted by the student for cancellation. The appeal will only be accepted if certain conditions are met in accordance to University Housing & Dining policy. No appeals will be accepted within the last six weeks of the semester. 4. Refund Policy

Refunds for unused meals will not be issued at the end of the semester if a student fails to opt out prior to payment of tuition or drop the selected meal plan during the specified drop/change week during the semester. If a meal plan is no longer desired by upperclassmen, transfers, commuters, or graduate students, they must opt out via iROAR Optional Fees prior to paying tuition for the semester.

Purchased Paw Points are non-refundable and non-transferable. Unused meal swipes expire at the end of each semester. Refunds for unused meal swipes will not be issued.

Students who withdraw from the University during the last six weeks of the semester are not entitled to a refund.

Bridge students must take into consideration that all meal plan purchases must be paid for in full and cannot be dropped, downgraded or refunded once purchased. Please note that the purchased meal plan and Paw Points may only be used on Clemson University's campus.

5. Meal Plan Rollover Policy - Fall to Spring

All fall meal plan selections will automatically rollover as the meal plan selection for the spring semester and will be added to the spring tuition bill. Failure to review the spring student tuition bill does not constitute a refund past the specified spring drop date.

You may change your original fall meal plan selection for the spring semester after the University student bill is available. Changes must be made prior to making any form of tuition payment.

If a meal plan is no longer desired for the spring semester, upperclassmen, transfers, or commuters that enrolled in a fall meal plan must opt out via the iROAR student account prior to paying tuition for the spring semester.

6. Paw Points Policy

Paw Points are a purchased value (1 Paw Point = $1.00) and are stored on the TigerOne Card.

Purchased Paw Point values rollover semester to semester, until:
• Balance is depleted
• Account inactivity after 18 months
• Disaffiliation with the University (i.e., graduation, transfer, termination, withdrawal)

Purchased Paw Points are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Paw Points associated with each meal plan will remain at the same price and value as if purchased at the beginning of the semester. Paw Points are not pro-rated when changing a meal plan.

7. Meal Plan Termination by the University

Upon reasonable notice and for good cause, the University reserves the right to terminate a meal plan for failure of the student to abide by its policies. Examples of good cause are a change in student status (including academic or disciplinary suspension) and failure to comply with the policies and regulations contained in the Dining brochure or official bulletins distributed by the University, which are hereby made a part of this agreement. The student will be responsible for all fees related to termination of the meal plan.

8. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

Students accept the terms and conditions of their selected meal plan upon initial tuition payment and processing of charges.
